FAQs

What does an osteopath do?

An osteopath is a manual therapist who uses a wide range of hands-on techniques to work on the patient’s symptoms. Doing so, the osteopath keeps the whole of the body in mind.

Learn more about Osteopathy →

Which conditions does an osteopath treat?

An osteopath treats a wide variety of conditions such as: chronic/acute pain, general pain, neck pain, hip pain, tennis or golfer’s elbow, low back pain, frozen shoulder, rotator cuff injuries, migraine, jaw pain, dizziness, muscle aches, sport injuries, whiplash associated disorder (WAD), digestive issues, reflux, cramps etc.

Why do I feel worse after a consultation?

This is completely normal! The body needs time to adjust. This usually takes between 1-3 days post-treatment. Keep being active and apply heat in general. Though, follow the advice your osteopath gave you.

How do I manage the pain?

Your osteopath will give you sufficient explanations on how to manage the pain at home.

Which population do you treat?

I treat everyone, from babies to children to adults to sportspeople to the elderly.

What if I receive other manual therapy, can I also come see an osteopath?

Yes, an osteopath works well in a multi-modal approach, i.e. together with physios, acupuncturists etc.

How many sessions do I need?

The number of sessions needed for osteopathic treatment can vary greatly depending on the individual patient and the specific condition being treated. Some patients may experience relief after just one or two sessions, while others may require more ongoing treatment.

Payment methods?

You can pay by cash, bank transfer or payconiq. Payments vary according to each practice and are adapted to the market price.

Reimbursement?

Your osteopath will give you a form to give to your mutuality. Your mutuality will then reimburse you for a small part and only for a couple of times a year.

Which languages is the consultation available in?

I speak fluent Dutch, French and English.
